Conversational rule #2

Everyone loves to be right.  They love it so much that their certainty moves quickly from opinion to truth to how could it be any other way why would you even bother to question me.  This move occurs  around the age of three and is forgotten the day after it is achieved.

To doubt is to wonder and to wonder is to admit the possibility of being wrong and to admit the possibility of being wrong is acknowledging the truth of personal ignorance, societal ignorance and the ignorance of the human species at large.

There is more stuff we don't know than we know.  There is more stuff we've never heard of than we don't know.  There is more stuff that nobody has even given a name to than we've never heard of.

And yet it feels so good to be right - regardless of if you are actually right... or if anyone is even close to the truth... or if anyone is even interested in the truth.  Are they?  Is anyone genuinely interested in. The truth?
