Is there a fancy latin phrase for that?

Green Arrow: Moving Targets (Green Arrow, Volume 6)"Deus Ex Machina" (DEX).  We all have at least heard that one, right?  From what I have grasped over the years, DEX is when, during a story, the author introduces something out of left field that fixes everything.  To me it's the author owning up to the fact that they didn't layout the story, got the characters in too big of a mess and decided they didn't really feel like re-writing everything... so well, the distant cousin from Manchuria appears and bails everyone out of jail.  Bah.  Cop-out.
Alright.  So what do you call it when comic book authors gratuitously bring extra (meaning ones not named in the title) super heroes into the story.  Like here goes Superman tooling around for 150 pages and he's in trouble and now Wonder Woman, Green Arrow and 16 other minor heroes from the DC universe appear.  Yawn.
It reminds me of Hollywood sequels.  Remember this hero?  Yeah.  So do we.  Here they are again.  They don't really have to add to the plot at all, since their mere appearance is enough to make all fanboys smile.  Aren't we all cool that we remember that?  Remember this movie?  Yeah, well here it is again with the same plot but now it's set in Ireland instead of Spain.  Yawn.
My complaint is really the same as it always is: I get upset when a piece of art was really close to being good.  Bad art isn't worth complaining about and is, in fact, often worth giggling about.
