Is that inappropriate for the medium? Perhaps. In many ways watching the movie felt like reading a book. I found myself visualizing what the characters were talking about and trying to figure out what was going on. Maybe not, though, it's common practice in a mystery movie to have the audience playing mental gymnastics while watching what is passing by on the screen.
Never mind that the acting isn't that great and never mind that the plot twist at the end is somewhat silly. It works. It works because I've never seen another film that is about a single conversation. I'm sure there are other films that revolve entirely around one hour and a half long philosophical meandering among friends... I've just never seen them.
If you have, you can skip this one - but if not... giggle with me, eh?
