The Story of Buddhism: A Concise Guide to Its History & TeachingsStory one:
Prince lives in a palace, sequestered from reality.  One day he pops out and sees the misery of the world.  This causes him to abandon his palace and seek truth.  He tries everything but finally discovers the truth by taking the middle path, which involves sitting under a tree for a while and then teaching people for several decades before dying.
Story two:
The world is full of suffering.  The cause of suffering is attachment.  There is a state beyond suffering.  There is a way to that state.
Story three:
Correct action, correct speech, correct livelihood, correct view, correct mindfulness, correct meditation, correct intention and correct effort.
Story four:
Every time someone presents a philosophy that sweeps away all the glitter, dust bunnies and bullshit that humans surround their lives with, it is promptly covered by glitter, dust bunnies and bullshit.
Story five:
What's life without glitter?
