Lazy or No?

Been writing, just not posting the results.  Also, been reading John Le Carre's "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy."  He does a fantastic job of setting the mood with not only dialogue but the text that describes how each character gives or receives dialogue.... which is kinda what I'm doing in the piece I'm writing so maybe I'm just seeing what I want to but so what if I am.

Almost all the place description, all the mood setting, all the action is given pre or post dialogue.  Why not?  I live in my words, why shouldn't my characters?

Also, I'm going to have to go back and do some major continuity editing.  I can't recall from one day to the next how big I made rooms, where I left objects or who lives where.  Once again, why not?  I seem to be losing my memory in "real life", so why not in my writing too?
