Noople frowned. “Again, you’ll have to pardon my friend. She sometimes imagines things that aren’t actually there.”
“Oh no, I saw the rabbit as well, it was hopping towards the children’s section.” The black coated clerk pointed to an open glass door in the nearby wooden wall.
Trying to stay calm, Noople walked over and read the sign above the door. “Captain Magic’s Children’s Maze.” She scanned the words slowly to see if she had read them correctly. She had. Looking through the door, she could see that the book shelves made a corridor.
The floor was a green carpet with little rainbows patterned all over it. Tiny tufts of gray hair were on the ground. She sighed, relieved that even though it was ridiculous that she was chasing her friend, who was chasing a rabbit, through a children’s library that was a labyrinth, at least it was summer so that rabbit was shedding a trail of fur that was easy to follow.
