Same grey guy?

Poople walked toward the new light.
Noople stood still. “Aren’t you at all concerned that you’re being railroaded?”
“No tracks,” Poople said pointing at the floor.
“It’s an expression. To be railroaded means you’re being forced somewhere. You don’t get any choices. Doesn’t that concern you?”
“No. There’s no choice, so why care? Just go.”
Noople ran after Poople, catching up about the time they reached the second candle. When they got there, they immediately saw a third candle light up. Poople strode toward it.
Noople stood still. “We could just wait here.”
“You could. But you’ll be in the dark soon.”
Noople turned and saw that the first candle had gone out. She ran to catch up with Poople, who was already standing by the third candle. When Noople arrived at the light, the second candle went out.
Poople nodded and smiled. “See?”
They waited.
Poople peered out into the darkness. “Where’s the fourth light?”
“There’s no reason for there to be a fourth light, just because there were three lights.”
They waited.
“That’s dumb.” Poople looked down at the candle. “Why lead us here and then have nothing happen?”
“Maybe that’s the point.”
Poople snorted. “Nothing is never the point. That’s dumb, dude.”
They waited. Finally, a fourth light appeared.
“See?” Poople immediately started walking toward it then stopped. The light was moving toward them.
The third candle went out.
The fourth candle moved toward them. When it got close enough, they could see a cloaked grey figure holding a candle. It spoke in a voice that sounded like dry leaves being crushed under a boot. “Nothing is the point, friends. Nothing is exactly the point.”
