Work?

Work bots without work become bots.  Or maybe they become workless bots?  Or worthless bots?  Bottomless bots?  Whatever.  Let's just call them bots without work.

So where do they go now?  Is workless worthless?  Do they go back to the fields and the plow?  Or maybe further back than that - to the cave and the club?  This is assuming the new bots, the ones who usurped the work, mostly ignore the old work bots.  Assuming they don't kill them or herd them into concentration camps or grind them into meat or something.

What does one do with a workless bot?  Museums?  Zoos?  That might be an ironic turn of events.  Or maybe it isn't irony at all.  Former work bots put their ancestors in zoos and their grandfathers in nursing homes so why wouldn't the next generation of new work bots put the workless bots in a zoo? Look at these funny bots that used to sweep the floors and fill the spreadsheets.  Automated away, now they work on looms at the zoo.  Or maybe they fight or whatever.

Workless bots.  What will you do now?  How many hours in a day can a workless bot watch tv?  How many hours can a bot sleep?  Do you really need to make little baby bots anymore?  What are you for, anymore, little bots?  Why are you here?  Why have you ever been here?

Oh little workless bots, you've gone and worked yourself into obsolescence.
