“Trevor, can you ssshoot them with a bow from here?”
The man shuffled strangely across the smooth floor and peered out a window slit. “Not yet, but when that bridge they’re building gets a bit longer I can.”
Everyone crammed around the narrow window. The army was, indeed, lashing together logs and dumping them into the moat, creating a floating bridge.
Quill set the pack gently on the ground and opened it, revealing a sleeping pair of flowers, a dog, and a cat. He took them all out of the bag, strapped it once again on his back, spun around three times and where there had once been a memory snake, there was now a giant gray fuzzy spider with seven stripes across its body. “Fly up to the roof with me, Donut.”
The spider climbed out the window, turning sideways to squeeze through the window. Donut followed immediately behind.
Trevor grabbed a bow and a stack of arrows. He began pelting the army below, mostly missing and occasionally hitting a lizardmen in the arm or leg, causing them to shout in anger up at the castle.
