Two hundred arms

Quill loaded all the bows again. Below, there was a holler and then silence. When the 100 arrows were released, the lizardmen all raised shields and the arrows bounced off harmlessly.
“Dang,” Donut said. “Try firing them like… half at a time.”
Below, the lizardmen kept building their bridge, moving ever closer to the entrance to the castle.
Quill loaded all the bows. The lizards shouted again. Half the arrows fired and were met with shields. One second later, Quill shot the other 50 arrows, surprising Stylus’s army and dropping many of them to the ground.
The bridge building continued.
“We’re out of arrows,” Donut said.
At that very moment, a panting Trevor dumped a full sack of arrows on the ground and began tossing them up to the roof.
There was a cry of joy below. The bridge had reached the door. The lizardmen were now carrying over giant ladders and putting them against the castle wall.
Donut began running around the roof of the tower, pushing the ladders down.
Quill readied the bows again. Fifty arrows met the shields. Fifty more came flying down but this time the army was ready and raised their shields again.
“Break it into three volleys,” Donut said.
“Too… complicated.”
From below, the Naga laughed. “The other army is here! It is Poople and Noople with a hossst of beavers, memory snakes, and baboons.”
